Start of a new Christmas Project
This is the start of my new mini-game: Santa & Presents. It's inspired by the gameboy-game "Mario and Yoshi" from 1991.
Game mechanic:
Different kinds of objects are falling from the top of the screen, and you have four plates to collect them on. By swapping the stacks you can form pairs between the falling and already stacked objects. Additionally, there are present-box-halves. When there is a top-half over a bottom-half, they combine to a bunch of points at once. The more objects are between the box-halves the more points you get.
Art:
For the start I am using simple paint.net graphics as placeholders. In the future I will rework them with the vector art program GravitDesigner.
Animations and Effects:
The first visual upgrades are some animations and visual effects. When you form a pair or complete a present-box a visual effect will show that you gained points. Additionally, I used LeanTween to animate the stack-switching and present completion.
Please look forward to the next updates.
